I'm confused by all these discs... having trouble understanding how they all "fit together" for those SF 2 and 3 CDs 😉

Have a look at the readme on the CD in the ftp://78.153.157.21/iso/awe64gold_soundfont_cdrom.iso.rar file. That mentions all of the various soundfonts CDs that I uploaded (and I saw matching SF2s in that ISO as on my bought CDs); "Developer's Choice Pop, Rock, and Jazz Collection Volume 1", "Multimedia Collection Volume 3", and "General MIDI Collection".

Also, IIRC from the readme, it also mentions the other two that I refered to previously. Anyhow, those are what I'm thinking were the SF CDI/II/III were.

The "Liveware ESC SoundFont Library" is simply an extra bonus 😀

OK, I redownloaded the awe64gold_soundfont_cdrom.iso. Refering to the indluded readme, I've concluded:

DEVCD - Samples from the "Developer's Choice Pop, Rock, and Jazz Collection Volume 1" CD-ROM.
GMCD - Sample from the "General MIDI Collection" CD-ROM.
GROOVES - Not exactly sure which SF CD-ROM they're from, but I've seen them available for download on Creative Labs web site ages ago.
VOL1CD - Samples from the "Guitars, Drums, & Synths Volume 1" CD-ROM.
VOL2CD - Samples from the "Traditional, Voice, & Keys Volume 2" CD-ROM.
VOL3CD - Samples from the "Multimedia Collection Volume 3" CD-ROM.

Anyhow, I've uploaded the "General MIDI Collection" and "Multimedia Collection Volume 3" ISOs, as well as the "Liveware ESC SoundFont Library" (although the "ESC" CD-ROM isn't really related to the topic of the CD I/II/III CD-ROMs). Sometime this weekend I'll be uploading the "Developer's Choice Pop, Rock, and Jazz Collection Volume 1" ISO.

Anyways, the previously mentioned soundfont CD-ROMs CD I/CD II/CD III are the VOL1CD/VOL2CD/VOL3CD CD-ROMs as listed above.

P.S. Attached are some pics of the CD cases that I found on the Internet Wayback Machine.

Also, while viewing several of the old Creative Labs' web pages on the IWBM, I found the following tidbit which I wasn't aware of:

"Developer's Choice Pop, Rock, and Jazz Collection Volume 1"

Contains all of the 512K banks, as well as 1MB and 2MB versions, from the Traditional Voice & Keys CD and the Guitars, Drums and Synths CD.

If you like the soundsets on the Traditional Voice & Keys and Guitars, Drums & Synths CDs, but also want more power than they can offer, then Developers Choice is the CD for you! The larger banks give you increased flexibility and power and you get all the great sounds in one package.

I had never bought those two above mentioned CDs, but it's nice to know that the Developer's Choice CD that I had bought eons ago contained all of the soundfonts included on them 😀

Hehe, cool idea 😀

If you like that, you might like this (one of my own custom creations: Surf here -> http://www.cmoo.com/snor/weeds/SoundFonts/ and snag "WChimes.zip".

Load the "WChimes.sf2" soundfont, and then play the included "WChimes.mid" MIDI file 😀

Greetings!

I am still looking for more drivers/disk images from additional models too - especially the Sound Blaster Pro series and some rare SB16 series like the MCV/MCD editions.

I would like to increase the database in this project, and my main aim is to make these FREELY available to whomever that requires them. Unlike the recent degradation of Driverguide, I want to maintain these as in current form - "by the community, for the community" as a helping gesture for those who need it.

If not for WolverineDK, my project wouldn't have got this far!

And thanks to TheMAN for his excellent collection! (Came to know TheMAN via WolverineDK) too!
And my sincere thanks to all the distinguished contributors (namely, rfnagel, njroadfan and aitotat [both from Vintage Computer Forums]) who have made all this possible!

@WolverineDK : I feel like erecting a statue in your honor! Heheheh... 😁

No, this is not the end of this project. This is JUST THE BEGINNING....! Cheers! 😀

good news! njroadfan on the other forum posted a link to the SB16 MCD disks! Not the 1993 version, but the later 1994 one... I don't care because the later one is better anyway! 😀

I am finally beginning to see the end.... there will be a release 4.1 after all! I hope I don't have to remove anything to get everything to fit!

Matey Malik: A friend of mine and I are in the VERY beginning of making a server and then use it for the project. Since after all, I do have a kickass connection. So why not use it for the greater good ? But we are only in the VERY beginning of it all, and yes there will be a firewall protection. So the server won't be a zombie attack machine. But I will of course let you all know about that when it becomes total reality upon that subject 😀
