Hi, I've been experimenting with getting Imperium Galactica working, and I think I've almost nailed it down, but there is one bug that is absolutely messing with me, and I cant think of a way to fix it.

What happens is when a message or cinematic is about to play, this happens
imperiumgalacticabug.png
That happens on every cinematic, including the intro. After the duration of the cinematic, the game continues as normal.

Looks like some sort of refresh rate problem.

But first: if you're running this in DOSBox, you should be posting on the DOSBox board. If you're not, what operating system are you using?

Ah. I thought this was the DOSBox board. The horror's of having multiple tabs open simultaneously.

I will attempt to tweak the refresh rate's and see if I can get it to come out right.

EDIT : I just realized that should not even be possible to edit.

Next question: are you using a legitimate copy of the game, or did you download it from somewhere?

1) Try to toggle "change videomode during animations" option in the install.exe options tab.
2) Try to set another machine= in dosbox options - vesa_nolfb as example...

Asus P4P800 SE/Pentium4 3.2E/2 Gb DDR400B,
Radeon HD3850 Agp (Sapphire), Catalyst 14.4 (XpProSp3).
Voodoo2 12 MB SLI, Win2k drivers 1.02.00 (XpProSp3).

Yes its a legit version. I bought it off Ebay.

Il try the toggle video mode, then the other setting if the other did not work.

EDIT : Sorry, but how do I set another machine? And how do you tell if the toggle video mode is on?

I'm not using dosbox. I'm using Dfend.

EDIT : Figured out how to do it, problem persists.

Well, I test the my own copy of this game,
output=ddraw
machive=vesa_nolfb
core=auto
cputype=auto
cycles=max

No errors founded.

So - kill D-fend, read the good dosbox manual then make all mounting and running manually.
Frontends are bah... not needed.
