When I run Wp51 without full screen I am able to use the keyboard. When in DosBox full screen the keyboard does not show any entries in my document at all, if I exit full screen the text I have typed is there. I am not familiar with the configuration of DosBox and would appreciate any help you can provide.

I don't know what version of DosBox I'm using, and don't know how to
check it. The set up of DosBox with WP51 for 64bit was preconfigured
and I have it working perfectdly on a Win7 64bit Desktop machine.
Would appreciate any help you can provide. Thanks in advance.
Go to where you got the preconfigured WP and let them fix it
Unfortunately I cannot go to the original source. I have this working on a desktop machine with the defaults. The machine I'm trying to configure is a notebook. I have since changed the keyboard settings in dosbox.conf to keyboardlayout=cf48 as this is a Canadian bi-lingual keboard and the keboard works correctly in a window, but no typing appears in full screen mode; however, when I exit full screen the typing is there. I cannot use this program in a window, it must be full screen. Can you help me please?

Unfortunately I cannot go to the original source.

What is the source and who did the preconfiguration?

change output I have tried all the values and they didn't work.

Are you sure that you are actually changing output=?

I've seen the issue you are talking about and it's not wordperfect specific. It happens when using a videocard/drivers that aren't compatible with output=surface.

Change the setting in dosbox.conf, execute DOSBox and then type "output" into the DOSBox CLI to verify that it's using the right setting.

Also verify that you are using DOSBox 0.74 (type "ver" into the DOSBox CLI) and upgrade your video drivers.

@qbix: I thought of that as well.

But is WOrd Perfect freeware?
I guess not, so the answer to this problem should be something like... We don't care?

I have tried all options for output, and confirmed them in dosbox.exe. None of the outputs make a difference. I can see my typing in a window, but cannot see my typing in full screen, but if I exit full screen what I have typed is in the document. WP51 is a dos program, it is not freeware but it is no longer supported.

Sorry, forgot to reply to this part. Yes I am using DOSBox 0.74, and the most recent video drivers.

The problem is solved. I wasn't duplicating the changes to the sharedsettings.conf file, the key was the keyboard layout.
Thanks so much for everybody's help.
