hey guys new to this forum
anyways this is probably my 2nd time using dosbox to play an old game i like
I have alien trilogy original cd (the actual game) however can not install on a windows 7 machine.
however using dosbox i was able to install it onto my harddrive so that trilogy exe had appeared in the installed folder. However when i try to run it it says that it must have the alien trilogy cd in the drive which it is but cant find it
(note i want to use my cd because it will likely have all the music from the game and the sound effects too instead of those found online

Both the CD and the HDD must be mounted. This needs to be done every time you want to play.

ok well ive resigned to the fact that i need dosbox to play this however now ive encountered another problem. for some reason the game runs very very slow. and ive installed it using all options available. is there something that im missing?

Probably a machine powerful enough to handle it.
It runs fine for me with 0.74.

cycles=max in the dosbox options.
The only Alien Trilogy problem AFAIR was bad VESA implementation in the game. Game screen was 1/2 horisontal size.

Asus P4P800 SE/Pentium4 3.2E/2 Gb DDR400B,
Radeon HD3850 Agp (Sapphire), Catalyst 14.4 (XpProSp3).
Voodoo2 12 MB SLI, Win2k drivers 1.02.00 (XpProSp3).

well i would probably expect that since im using my crap computer till friday. and it worked fine on my good... ok thanks guys
