I have done research to try and figure out exactly what is happening with warcraft2, but I have not found a concrete solution.
Basically I can install and play the game just fine. However, once I quit the game and dosbox if I try and play the game again it says that I have to insert the cd.

I am trying to use an image (iso) of the Warcraft2 CD via Daemon tools as my drive E. Drive E is located on my drive as CDROM 1. I also have the entire game loaded onto my C drive in another folder...if that makes a difference.

The commands I am using are as follows:

mount c "c:\war2"
mount d "e:\" -t cdrom -usecd 1

I have tried moving the iso file to my c drive and then attempted the imgmount, but I kept having the error "iso cannot be found on local drive" - or something to that affect.

Any and all help is much appreciated. I am pretty new to dosbox, but I am old enough to remember the good old days of dos gaming. I was glad to see that there are so many people out there who appreciate them too.

Warcraft 2 had an early CD check. Using an original disk rather than an ISO might work around the issue, though DOSBox's emulation layers between the game and the CD may mess with that.

The other option is to find a no-cd crack for the game.

Make a bin/cue instead. It'll work, and you'll get CD audio that way too
