Hi there...

I'm new to this forum, not an avid Dos gamer - but am trying to get an old 16 Pit strategy Game running on my Mac (via Boxer)

Basically It's a x2 disk affair but I can't seem to get it to Go...

the reason why I bought the original is the Pirate (which I can get to work) has the intro movie removed, which is the only thing I'm interested in....

Can anyone help, I'm a real newbie with Dosbox, having never really been a PC user...

Would really appreciate any help.... If anyone can get it going from the attached file, b more than happy to make a PAYPAL donnation for a little beer Money 😀

Cheers

I have deleted your attachment. Distributing copyrighted software doesn't seem to be a good idea.

[Thread moved to DOSBox Games/Apps. Section]

I suggest reading some of the guides on the forum Guides Section. Specially you should follow the 60 seconds guide to the letter.

The tutorials were helpful, but I couldn't get it going "key disk not found" is this copy protection? the guy that sold me the game supplied the original Box and Disks with a DVD which has x2 Folders with the contents from the original disks, and this is what I'm trying to run.

Would I be better to buy a Physical USB Floppy Drive? and use the originals?

cheers

You can either find a crack for the game or make images of the disks (using winimage) and mount the disks in DOSBox.

or you can try running the game on an old computer with a physical floppy drive

A USB floppy drive probably isn't going to do you any good for running the game with DOSBox (except for being able to make an image of the floppy)

Cheers DosFreak - I ordered the USB Floppy drive (was only £10) - So making an Disk Img should work then (perhaps) - what will the file extension be? I know that when using Amiga Emulation games have the .adf extension

The extension can be whatever you want. Usually PC disk images have a .img extension, though.

RaWriteWin is a good freeware utility for making images.

Turned out It wasn't an intro movie that was missing, it was simply an in game function that showed the animation... Anyway thanks for the help 😀
