I have a random issue happening on my "File Server" machine.
Well I call it that since it has my 1.5TB and 2TB HDD's for file storage 😀
I use it for other tasks including my job related functions.
I have noticed within the past 2 or 3 months some random DISK I/O lockup issues; what happens is that for about 20 or 30 second the DISK HDD light stays on steady and freezes up the system until it finishes it's task.
I have tried enabling the AHCI mode manually under the system registry and then installing the AMD 790GX drivers and rebooting, then going into the CMOS Setup Screen to turn this on, no go.
I have to revert back to the SATA/IDE mode to get things working again.
This indeed maybe related but I had this issue before enabling this function.
The system is usable except during this brief time of DISK I/O cloggage.
Anybody have any ideas/tips ?!?
