Does anybody know of any that still work under Win 9x/ME that get regular updates anymore?

Clamwin?
We had a discussion on this last year already I think
NOD32 v2 was still updating as of 1 year ago approximately, but chances are that it may be dead now.
I use Clamwin with Clam Sentinel.
I wonder if Alwil still releases virus databases for Avast 4.8?

Do any of them have real time protection (catching viruses as soon as they attempt to modify something) or do you have to run a full disc scan to find them?
IIRC Clamwin\ClamAV isn't compatible with Windows 95 (at least the installer isn't). Haven't tried extracting nay files yet.
Clamwin + ClamSentinel scans files in real time.

NOD32 definitely does.
I have Avast! 4.8 installed and it still downloads updates. It has a setting for real-time protection, but I have it turned off.
