Hopefully somebody out there can help me out here. I have been trying to get this bloody Carmageddon game to work (no pun intended) with no luck at all. I have download varies 3dfx patches and none seem to work. I can't seem to download the patch that's on the Glidos page....but anyway...that's not my problem. After I installed Glidos and tried to run Carmageddon from the shortcut on my desktop. It says "Can't copy Glide2x.ovl to C:\intrplay\carma". Please if you guys know what this means I would appreciate a response as soon as possible. I have a Pentium 2 350 and I'm not worried if the game will run slow. The game works without 3dfx...but it looks HORRIBLE. I have a Voodoo2 3dfx card with 8mb. When I had my old computer this game ran beautifully with this Video card. Can't remember what configuration I had. It's been at least 5 yrs since I played this game....just wanted to try it out again. Thanks for any help you provide.

Check to make sure there is a Glide2x.ovl file in your GliDOS directory. If there isn't, reinstall GliDOS, and it should reappear. 😀

Yes, it’s my fault.

Attention Snover !!!! Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately it still doesn't work. When you said to make sure that GLide2x.ovl is copied to my glidos directory did you mean c:\glidos ??? That file exists in c:\glidos but when I try to lauch the game it still says that it can't copy that file there.. but the file IS THERE. So, what else can I try? I re-installed the program as you said but still no deal. 🙁 I really want this game to run with my 3dfx card and not in crummy software mode !!! It looks real bad. Anyway, if there are any other suggestions I would appreciate it very much if you emailed me back. Thanks a million buddy.

Do not post new threads in response to old threads. It just irritates people and makes us want to not help you. Try manually copying Glide2x.ovl to the directory in which Carmageddon is installed.
