I came across Glidos when trying to get TR1 to work, and I'm very pleased with the results so far. I shall probably be registering it at the end of the month.
I have a couple of questions and a problem that I hope you will be able to answer for me.

First the questions
1. Am I right in thinking that any Glide game should be playable through GLidos?

2. If so, is it just a matter of editing the glidos.ini file with the programs details.

Now the problem. I don't think this is a Glidos problem per se but I hope you can help with it.

I'm trying to get Screamer 2 running with Glidos but when I start it up I get the game asking for me to insert the game CD. It does this if I try to run it without Glidos as well.
I am running Windows XP so i suspect it is something to do with DOS CD drivers, but I don't know how to get round it.
Any ideas?

Eh, yes and no. Firstly, that would have to say any DOS Glide game. Secondly, while THEORETICALLY it would work, the Glide implementation is incomplete and some of the DOS games require kludges in order to get them working at all, let alone with Glide. But in the case you wanted to try to get one working, yes, you'd just edit the glidos.ini file.

Regarding Screamer 2, try SAPUCDEX.

Yes, it’s my fault.

Basically you have to copy SAPUCDEX.EXE in your SYS:\WINNT\SYSTEM32 directory and edit your AUTOEXEC.NT file (located in this same folder) accordingly:

REM Install CD ROM extensions
REM lh %SystemRoot%\system32\mscdexnt.exe
lh %SystemRoot%\system32\sapucdex.exe

If your using VDMS 2.0.1 instead of the latest version (2.1), then you should modify the AUTOEXEC.VDMS file as well. You'll find it in your VDMSound directory.

Hi Colin,

If you have more than one CDROM drive, try the Screamer 2 CD in the other drives. On my Win98 SE system with two drives, E: and F: , it would only work in the first drive E:
