I've done some reading about spambots, the wiki page is quite enlightening
Apparently many spambots will create accounts containing external spam links in it's signature and make no posts.
This is bad as it makes Vogons more visible to spambots, encouraging more spambots to come spamming here.
Just by looking at the member list from page 915 and back I can identify these spambots:

Of the 8 members on page 915, half of them are spambots containing spamlinks in their signature.
Would there be any way to mass-remove profiles containing a very certain link? I noticed many of the spambots are duplicates in all but name
to view the profile of a user, you need to be logged in. So there is no benefit for them to register but make no posts.
I think most of them don't get their account activated due to the various preventive measures in place.

To Vogons admins: you can end this spambot nonsense (~95% of spam posts/accounts are spambots; real people are only 5%) by changing image captcha (which is ocr'ed already) with Q&A captcha (like: 'What's the color of grass' and the expected answer is 'green'). No need to create more strict registration rules. It's implemented in phpbb 3.0.6+, but you can easily implement it here too.
