Hiya,

i'm having some trouble with games like lands of lore 1 and kyrandia: hand of faith. Cause it's required (i think?) i run those games off the cd-rom and when i do the loading of audio files makes the sound 'hiccup'

does anyone know what i'm talking about and if this can be fixed?

You should try before you run those games setting the cycles lower. I don't know what CPU you have but for those games I'd try

cycles=8,000

If the game runs too slow, bump it up by 1,000 each attempt. If it still hiccups lower it by 1,000 each try until you hit the sweet spot.

Just type that in at the command line before you run the game executable.

I would suggest using ScummVM for those games.

yeah i tried cycles=6,000 and cycles=8,000 and dosbox kinda crashed with both options? loading the game took forever til i aborted.

how do i enter the scummvm command?

When at the command prompt, type "cycles 6000" or use the respective entry in the dosbox config file.

Doh sorry about my commas, my mistake, yeah you probably set Dosbox to 8 cycles.

cycles=8000 etc....
