Hi, hope someone can help with this.
I have been able to get the intro of Redguard working with the help of Glidos, but cannot seem to get any further.

After the intro movies are complete, the screen goes black and nothing happens. 😕

I have tried with both v1.19 and v1.22 of Glidos, but no luck.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Any help appreciated! 😀

GliDOS problem. Moving to GliDOS FORUM.

Yes, it’s my fault.

Ah, Snover is finally bringing us some fresh meat to bite at. It was about time!

k, Swanny, so you wanna be a pirate, eh? You look more like a flooring inspector to me! Now for the obvious: go find the Scumm Bar and give a shot at the latest Glidos version (1.24). You may have more luck this time. Try a basic 640x480 resolution. Hit Alt+Enter whenever the black screen occurs in order to go back to window mode and see if there's not an error message box that needs to be taken care of. Try also to run the game in a window instead of fullscreen.

Remember: THE SCUMM BAR! Not Snover's hideout! You got lucky this time, the heck what could happen to you next time you post in a wrong thread! 😉

Thanks Kaminari, you old salty sea-dog 😜

I tried the new version 1.24 and like 1.22 it runs the intro jerkilly then just blacks out. ALT+Enter doesnt appear to show any error messages underneath - it just looks like the thing is crashing.

1.19 runs the intro flawlessly, but again, it just dies once the movie is over and attempts to load the game.

Problems consistent whether windowed or Full screen. I've gone down to 640x480 in both modes.

Could it be something set in my graphic's card control panel perhaps? Anti-aliasing or pixel shader or some filter need disabling?

Mmm, I don't think antialiasing is at fault here.

What else could I suggest -- have you got the latest drivers for your Radeon? Are you using the latest OpenGlide version (0.09rc6)? You sure you're running the 3dfx version of Redguard's executable (RGFX.EXE)?

Here are the settings I'm using for openglid.ini, if that may help:

[Options]
EnableMMX=1
CreateWindow=1
InitFullScreen=1
EnableMipMaps=0
