I'm new to DOSBox.
Goal is to install DOSBox on WIN7 w/ 64bit.
I've found WIN32 installer, but is there a WIN64 installer? Maybe I missed it someplace.
- Thank you.

No
32-bit works fine on x64.
I use Windows 7, x64 and the 32bit installer works just fine and so does DOSBOX 😀
No matter where you go, there you are...
in the case of dosbox, a 64bit version wouldn't work as fine as the 32bit one 😀
Tnx all for info on 32bit installer.
I've loaded installer and set up locations as in DOS manual webpage: i.e.
My Computer
Local Disc C:
DOSBox
OldGames
(Program goes here)
I'm trying to load a DOS program from a CD.
...but WIN7 isn't giving me install options I expected.
Usually WIN7 gives install options that go something like:
Install or run program from your media
Open Auto Play
Open
Open Command Prompt Here
Open a new window
...etc
-> WIN7 isn't giving me the first option (Install or run a program from your media) which is what I want, right?
Comments on how to get CD DOS program into folder I created, again appreciated. I don't want DOS to go into WIN7-land.
If it's a DOS game you should run its installer from inside DOSBox, not from Windows.

It could for 32-bit protected mode emulation. You could maintain an entire virtual map of memory in a single contiguous block, and avoid any software address translations (I don't know how many you actually use, perhaps you're already using the hypervisor extensions to be able to do this in a 32-bit address space already.)
Although, I do remember that there have been various backwards-compatibility breaking done while in 64-bit mode. So, if 16-bit opcodes are excessively slower than the same processor in 32-bit mode, then it probably wouldn't be better, just like you said.
It's mostly been proven that a 64 bit build is slower or at least not faster than a 32bit build, theory aside 😉
