Is anyone familiar with COAST modules? I'm looking at some old 486 class machines which take CELP SIMMS, but the specs say that they take asynchronous, write-through modules, but the only ones I seem to find are pipeline-burst ones made for socket 7 machines. Are these backwards-compatible? Confuzzed.

absolutely not.

That being said, of all the "standard" memory modules made, the ones with 2 square chip and 1 small rectangle are the PENTIUM version of the cache cards. The ones that just have 9 rectangle chips are the ones the are for the 486 class machines. I have one around here somewhere, with no board. if you cant find one on ebay let me know.
