Hi everyone,

I've spent a couple of days trying to make an old DOS program (a training course) work under either VirtualBox or DOSbox.
I've been successful in running it under VirtualBox, but whenever there is a sound effect the display gets corrupted and stays like this.

So I've turned to DOSbox and I've been able to recreate the environment except for the LASTDRIVE statement in config.sys.
The program I'm trying to run needs a very specific configuration and I had errors if the SoundBlaster wasn't configured with that IRQ or DMA...the last error standing is that this program (of which all error messages are in German) is that it lacks the LASTDRIVE statement in config.sys.

Is there a way to have DOSbox get the LASTDRIVE setting?

Thanks in advance.

I think by default DOSBox sets a Lastdrive setting of "Z", which I recall that some programs find too high and balk at. I believe setting an alternate value in a config.sys file should work out though.

Try to type "set LASTDRIVE=E"
(This example use "E")

or

Try the program attached.
(Type "lastdrv help" for help)

Goodluck !
