Mechwarrior 2 Mercenaries 3dfx DOS

Should this version of the game work in DOS?
It has a separate dos installer and works in DOS but I noticed it works only with:
Object textmaps - Off
Terrain textmaps - Off
Display detail - Low
If I turn any of the above on game crashes.

the 3dfx version may be windows

are you using real dos ? real voodoo 1 card ?

I have this game boxed, it's for windows 95 and requires some early directx. 😉

Hybrid dos/windows cd i have it here. DOS version plays fine with dosbox but you wont get the 3dfx goodiness that requires the windoze with conversion files and the 3dfx only cd needs windoze
