I've just downloaded and installed D-Fend Reloaded....put ROTH on it, that's fine, but when trying to run the game it keeps asking me to insert the original CD, even though it is in the CD drive...what am I doing wrong ? I'm not good at this stuff I admit, I just want to replay ROTH...how I wish I still had that old Windows 95 'puter....anyway, any ideas ?

what I need really, is an option to 'run game from CD' in the programme, but I can't find anything, unless any of you using it know any different ?

How did you configure D-Fend Reloaded? Did you mount the CD drive?

cheers, I'll have a look at all that later...why can't it just be simple...like..'read game from your CD player'...and have a wizard to set it up....oh well...

I thought D-Fend Reloaded did have that.

D-Fend Reloaded does have a wizard to install a game from a cd drive , cd image , floppy image , archive files and from a folder

It can be found under the profile tab and it is called "Install from source media..." .

I hope that this helps you play you game .

Yes, thanks, I have managed to install it from the CD to my hard drive (the base files), that bit was easy...it's the running the game from the CD that's awkward...it has to for all the video it contains...and there are 4 CD's for the game altogether, so you have to keep changing them as you progress through the game...

Just mount all 4 images in dosbox.conf, do a large install, run and press CTRL-F4 when you need to swap cd's. I play this game a lot nad NEVER had any problems with it

imagefile1 imagefile2 .. imagefileN
Location of the image files to mount in DOSBox. Specifying a number
of image files is only allowed for CD-ROM images.
The CD's can be swapped with CTRL-F4 at any time.
This is required for games which use multiple CD-ROMs and require the CD
to be switched during the gameplay at some point.

Say you have the 4 CDs imaged as ISO files and place them in C:\DOS

The mount command for this would be
IMGMOUNT D C:\DOS\ROTH-1.iso C:\DOS\ROTH-2.iso C:\DOS\ROTH-3.iso C:\DOS\ROTH-4.iso -t cdrom -fs iso

To swap CDs press Ctrl+F4.

I think Bladeforce assumed you know how to image a CD. For that you can use a program like MagicISO, ImgBurn, or ISO Buster.

oh God, I've dug myself into a hole here...I'll try though. In the grand scheme of things it's not that important I guess, but why is this stuff so blindingly simple to some....I'll get back to you....
