Does anyone know where to find this? I've checked all the usual places and turned up nothing! I'd really like to get my hands on this. I currently have the floppy version (one bad disk) so I got the GOG version. Everything works, just wanting the CD-ROM version or bits, thanks.

I thought that most GOG games are the CD-ROM version.

Doom isn't just a game, it's an apocalypse survival simulator.

CD rips, usually just the game files.. sometimes lossy audio tracks -- installers for Windoze

It's not that rare. You can get it from Amazon and Ebay.

Thanks. Not sure how I missed the Amazon ones. The one on 3DRealms site is just a "backup CD" though, pretty sure it's not the same thing -- just a copy of the digital download no less. Went ahead and ordered one off Amazon, even though it doesn't say "Super Triad" fingers crossed!

If I'm not mistaken, Apogee publicly released all the various patches and extras from the CD version on their website. If they're not still there, someone out there has probably got them still.

Yes, I read something about that. If they don't come on the CD I ordered.. I'll have to look for them.

Yeah. But regarding the soundtrack... I don't know... I've listened the original so many times... and i enjoy it very much. Overall i think it's going to be a good game.

Does the CD-ROM version have CD audio soundtrack or is it still MIDI like the floppy version?

Still MIDI!

Otherwise i would have no use for my Roland, Yamaha and Turtle Beach synths. 😁

Hah, good point. I find myself trying to downgrade various games' CD audio soundtracks to MIDI a lot these days. Just did this with Blood. Now I'm trying to see if I can for Shadow Warrior and Redneck Rampage.

Shadow Warrior only exclusively has MIDI for the shareware version.

I was disappointed to discover this recently, but the red book audio is still pretty cool.

Regarding the upcoming revamped version of ROTT - call me an old fart but ROTT's brand of brutal violence - making guys beg for their life before blowing their brains out, etc - is fine in 2d, low def DOS resolutions. But I don't think I'm up for it in 1920x1080.

I'll stick with the original.
