I've finally gotten my 486 system with motherboard Asus VL/I-486SV2GX4 Rev 2.0 and a 486 DX4 100. No picture or POST when I press the power button. Not a single beep from the PC speaker.
From the information I find it does not support EDO SIMM RAM which the seller sold with the machine and said would work (machine was ribbed of some parts from when it was running). These are the chips I've got atm: http://doc.chipfind.ru/ti/tm248gbk32f.htm . Can anyone confirm that these won't work in my system?
So I guess I need FPM SIMM ram. Are there any requirements on the NS I need? The specifications found here: http://www.elhvb.com/mobokive/archive/asus/48 … /vi-486sv2g.txt says 80ns. Can I use 60 or 70ns if I find that?
