Like the title suggests, I'm looking for a CPU TEMP monitor app for my Pentium III in Win98. Something that is lightweight and just shows the temp in the taskbar will suffice, thanks.

I like Core Temp for my AMD Phenom II in Win7.

Everest Home Edition is what I use. Boards from those days also often came with Hardware Doctor.

Best software to use for the Pentium 3 & 4 era was "hardware monitor" It supported 99% of all boards. Sadly it died with agp. such is life.

I use CPUID Hardware Monitor on my primary desktop.. is what ur talking about an older version of that? I looked at their version history and the app only goes back to 2008.

Do you happen to have a link to what ur talking about? Thank you.

MotherBoard Monitor (MBM) is what I used back then, I'm pretty sure.

I'm using a Tyan Trinity 400 (S1854) mobo. It looks like CPU temp monitoring won't work on that board, but I'll try just in case. If not, I guess I'm stuck getting a hardware temp monitor for a 5.25" drive bay.

MBM was a no go BTW. Guess I need a physical temp monitor for my case. BOO, they're all black.. no beige.

Is there a temperature monitor visible in the BIOS?

I use it for my dual 462 rig. MBM was really the first GOOD software to monitor temps. support for it ended with agp. I don't know why.

Yes. I just haven't found a way to monitor within Windoze under load. Not sure that I can actually.
