I'm having some odd hangs w/ Glidos on my XP machine (e.g. when I die and reload), so I thought that before I ask you guys to debug some weird install issue, I'd try to start "clean".
The question is "How?" Is there a generic installer that works for "all" people using XP? Or a single set of instructions? No, really.
I hope none of you hurt yourselves while ROTFL at me.
But really, is it:
1) Use the wizard from http://www.glidos.net/install.html?lang=en
2) Download OpenGlide_v007b4.zip from http://www.glidos.net/baron.html?lang=en and replace glide2x.dll in C:\Program Files\Glidos with the one from the zip file. [Do I need to also replace Glidos.ini??]
3) Edit C:\Program Files\Glidos\glidos.ini and turn off VESASupport.
3.5) Disable MacAfee anti-virus software (seems to cause issues on my system)
4) Test.
4.5) Turn anti-virus software back on.
5) Download the textures from http://www.resonantedge.com/trx/?p=download and install them.
6) Edit C:\Program Files\Glidos\glidos.ini (agan) and insert TextureOverride: Yes
7) Test again (don't forget to disable MacAfee). Then ask http://www.vogons.org for help. š
Have I left out any steps??
Thanks,
-Jeff
