ScummVM?

🤣 I am a gamer not a tech. I have no clue about the iner workings of a computer. I really am dumb founded at my issue.

Learn to use Scummvm or DOSBox, buy the games from GoG or find a vintage computer to play on.

Well this sucks so I have to buy it all over again. Ok! Well shoot if I would of been pac-man I would of been eatin the first round. *face palm*

Buy the GOG,com Kings Quest Collection and then tweak it!

TIP: Don't install it in the default folder 😀

ok! I tryed to run it on my pc and it is saying that it is an old version of the program. Saying I need to contact the programer to get a updated version. *Face palm* I geuss I will have to by it.

You shouldn't be getting that error with the new installers Mr. Collector linked to. Did you follow the instructions..?

Sounds like you tried to run one of the games' executables, not the installer. What version do you have? Is it one of the collections or are they stand alone games?

It is a collection its from 2006 collection pack. Is there a difference?

Yeah, it's using old DOSBox versions that aren't very Windows Vista/7/8 friendly. 0.63 I believe

Did you use the download named "King's Quest Collection (2006)" ? What, exactly, did you do?

You have two options. You can use the original installer and then apply the patch http://sierrahelp.com/Patches-Updates/NewColl … oxUpdaters.html or I recommend the new installer for the collection http://sierrahelp.com/Patches-Updates/NewSier … llers.html#KQC3

The second option is the cleaner solution as it completely bypasses all of the issues with the collection.

That's the general caution statement. EVERYTHING you download could harm your computer, even those "100% 'tested' spyware free" files found on those bigname download sites.

well this poped up the big warining thing about the file can hurt or criticly harm my pc.

i dont know i'm not computer wiz i just play games ALOT.
