OK, this is driving me nutz...

I remember reading here at VOGONS about an old DOS game that had native MT-32 support for it's music and sound effects. The game may (or may not) have been at some point in time released as freeware.

I remember when I was experimenting with MUNT and the game, that the game kind of looked 'Wing "Commander-ish" 1' to me (although not quite as fancy)... I seem to remember that you flew a spacecraft around shooting things from a cockpit view of the spacecraft.

Any ideas as to what I'm thinking of?

Hmm any more details you can remember? Was there an intro? Was the graphics real 3D with polygons or pseudo 3D like Wing Commander.

Hmmm.... I don't really remember, but it might have been pseudo 3D.

Crazy thought, the game's title MIGHT have started with a letter "M". But, after looking at lists of games that had native MT-32 support, none of them rang a bell.

I'm kind of thinking that the game MIGHT have been retail, and then released as freeware at some point in time... but I don't really remember. Seems that when I was twiddling with it previously (with MUNT), I seem to remember that it was the full version.

I kind of remember that the game was fairly impressive, as far as what it could do with the MT-32; and that it was definitely an FPS space-shooter of sorts.

P.S. I dont' think that the game had any intro of sorts.

P.P.S. From waht I remember, the game was mentioned here at VOGONS not too long ago... seems that I was playing around with it maybe towards the beginning of the year (?).

...and another P.P.P.S. I also recall downloading the game directly from the author's web site (I THINK <aarrggh>).

Nope, it wasn't any of those (I even browsed through all of the games and screenshots from your link here -> http://www.mobygames.com/browse/games/dos/tic … -fi-futuristic/ .

BTW, the game "Darker" looks a bit too fancy (graphics-wise), and "Cybercon III" looks to crude.

Man, this is driving me nutz.

Another thing that I remember is that the in-game cockpit also had a radar of sorts.

Heh, I considered LineWars II, but your description made me think you were looking for something a lot fancier-looking for some reason. :)
