I was wondering if it's worth while to go and replace the thermal paste on older systems like PIII's and P4's? These system are 15 years old or so, will that stuff even last that long?

And on a naked die like the PIII should I use arctic silver or thermal pads?

Yes, replace the thermal compound, those PIIIs get wicked hot once they dry out the paste. I'm talking the cartridge style PIIIs, the chip style also get hot.

Doom isn't just a game, it's an apocalypse survival simulator.

on pentium 4 use nice paste like arctic silver 5. also use the dot method for an air tight seal.
