Just a point to remember when buying a CPU cooler, for a given surface area pure copper is better at conducting heat than aluminum or part aluminum-part copper. It's also usually more expensive.

from what i can tell and have experienced aluminum copper combination works the best. copper conducts heat better than aluminum but, aluminum dissipates heat better than copper. Because copper conducts heat better it like to hold on to it or conducts it at such rate that aluminum dissipates better but, aluminum probably dissipates better because it doesn't conduct as well.
Or you can throw all that out the window and wait for graphene heat sinks. graphene thermal paste already exists.
