Hi, I need help getting a PowerColor HD4650 AGP to work on some rudimentary level BEYOND 640x480 on Win2K.... I could swear, back in Win98, there were some generic Microsoft drivers that would give me higher resolution than THAT! Not so in 2K, apparently... 😕 😢
Any assistance you could offer would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

There is a generic VESA VBE based driver that may work.

There's really no way to run an official AMD driver?

You'd also need the AGP bridge hotfix driver. (what kind of "hotfix" is 140mb+ anyway?)

I've heard about .INF modding, but it sounds REAALLLYY HARD and I wouldn't have a clue where to begin.... I mean, if only there were some way to simplify the process... any advice?

You could install Windows XP. 😜 INF modding really isn't that hard. Windows is picky about the syntax, so if the file was edited wrong, the driver won't be detected by the wizard or simply won't install.

BTW, am finally dual-booting 2K & XP... was in 2K previously, but "progress" (new software) keeps dragging me into newer OSs.... so it goes....

Also, thanks to (fellow) DOSFreak... DOS Lovers unite! 😉 😎 😀

But, DF, I actually found that site myself, but didn't have much luck with it.... unlike the VBE... for one thing, whenever I tried to install those drivers, when I pointed Win2k to the inf file, the models box kept coming up empty...hate that! But appreciate the help anyway! Thanks again!
