VOGONS

First off, you can download this game at the Underdogs...

Second, the installer (install.exe), which is required to set up the sound card, is broken in this release. It quits saying that the DOS version I am running is too old. However, you can run the installer in a Windows command prompt to set up the sound card (just don't test anything!). I did that, and thus went back into Dosbox to run the game.

After running the game for about 2 minutes, it crashes back to the prompt with this message.
ERROR: Video File Format Wrong.

So, thus, despite my struggles to make the game work, it is still broken in Dosbox 0.61. Just informing everybody so you can update the games area and work on the bugs. 😀

I'm not sure about this struggle you're having, but the soul reason for the game not working is the 'protection' as they call it? They graphics are all scrambled in dosbox in the previous versions, haven't tried the game in 0.61 as it doesn't work for me. Stop the opengl restriction. 😜

ive been trying to run this in version .63 and the problems are still going on x_x

When i checked to see if it was working in these versions they say it is but i get the video file format wrong error anywhere from 1-40 min into the game

One guy said use VDM and i tried that only to have it lock up every now and then (faster then dosbox)

meh, anybody have any ideas as this was always my favorite game untill windows XP took it away

I'd also like to see a way to fix this. My problem is the same (video error) as the one the others are experiencing.

In DosBox 0.72 with the downloadable version of Fragile (not the cd version) this error occurs when trying to view some of the menu animations. Setting MenuAnimations=NO in the config.ini file will stop this error from coming up in the menus, though I have not tested if it occurs elsewhere.
