Are you running this on DosBox or real hardware?

I vaguely recall this game being somewhat dependent on the processor speed. But its probably not all that much because I played through this game on a P2-400 over 10 years ago. In windows 98.

its one of my favorite games.

the walking/running speed is a pain though.

I have to play without the walking animation even on my retro PC

Is GOG selling this?

I dimly recall that there was a website which had obtained the legal rights to freely distribute the game, but my memories are fuzzy on the matter.

Dark Sun is NOT freeware. If it was all the abandonware sites would say so. Any download is warez. I suggest that the person who downloaded it go to thge site where he downloaded and ask them. This site DOES NOT support abandonware and illegal downloads.

Do you think it's easy to keep track of these things? Heck, a lot of those sites would be much more likely to say something is freeware when it isn't.

Many of them are. Not all of them.

Anyway, poking around a bit suggests I was probably thinking of materials for the pen-and-paper game, so never mind.
