Wow. That IS ghetto. 😉
Not as ghetto as my 486/66 DX-2, though. (I'm even getting an AWE32 ISA and an old CD-ROM from my main man Steve that works in IS at my school! And the power button spring has issues, so it's a pain in the arse to close the case.)

Yes, it’s my fault.

heh, I think the 486DX4-100 I use here as an internet router/server would give that machine a run for its money. It doesn't even have a VGA card instead it has a combination MDA/CGA (ran in monochrome mode for the clearer text) card I had in my first XT clone years ago. It isn't a big deal, since not only does it not run an X server (I managed to get it running one once, using the XFree86 mono driver but it was as slow as a wet week and the 720x400 resolution was too low to really do anything with) I hardly ever access it locally anyway, most of the time I PuTTY to access it via SSH.

Heh...

hey, who wants free P133s? Steve is unloading a bunch of them, and I quote (in blockquote):

You know, I'd love to pick one of those up to replace the 486 but I'd probably spend more getting the thing shipped to Australia than what the gear is worth...

Prolly my favorite component is this:
Thrustmaster Nascar Super Sport

What an underrated wheel! I picked it up for about $25 USD at a local computer store, it's great!

Here's a review:

The Thrustmaster FragMaster is a very odd one - one of those "collectable controllers" that you buy since it's so weird (if the price is right - $10 was good for me), but that you'd never use - see here:

My Voodoo3 has been a nice, steady performer too. 😀

i got a 486-dX4 100 here, which i use to play the old dos games. It's loaded with a Sound Blaster 16 PnP (3D sound enhancement) and it's running perfect.
