recently acquired an GU ACE for my 486. its the rev 1.0 so I know it has the reversed stereo issue. i get the feeling the solution is really obvious and in my face but whats the fix for this?

^ What bristlehog said.

There really is no obvious solution to this soviet conscript (other than to select "reverse stereo" if a game has it as an option). I also have a GUS ACE rev 1.0 and just chose to live with the issue (and I've owned mine since 1996). After some time, I just got used to it. There is a rev 1.1 with correct stereo channels, but they are very rare and hard to find (I have never seen one).

Here's a link to an old thread at Quest Studios where the issue is looked into:

Here's a link to a Wikipedia page with a picture of what I believe is a GUS ACE rev 1.1 (just scroll down until you see it):

hmm. This figures. I have only one GUS ACE v1.1 while saw and had dozens of the v1.0. Never cared / knew, however, what had been fixed in this revision. So far...
Now with this knowledge, I am definitely NOT going to sell mine...

need to do it in 1/8 jack. hmm, so a minijack-to-duel RCA to a RCA to 1/8 jack-F would correct this then if i just invert the RCA's? its mildly cumbersome but the parts are probably $5 total.

Sounds like a good plan, just get one of each of these and go for it:
