wrote:thats very impressive! getting 11200pts on a p3s... i thought it would be around 10000 at best since cpu is the obvious bottleneck.
i could only get 9300pts with p3s-1.4, 815et board and ti4600, even with the classic 30.82 driver. with newer drivers it degrades to 8900, and then 8600.
Maybe the 2nd CPU helps a little?
I'd be interested to see what your 4600 did with new drivers like the 81.85, 81.95.. I have a TI 4200 on a slot 1 system and really likes them and the 6800 Ultra really really likes them:)

Pretty much as bad as expected, a half good P3 would kill this thing dead. for a 2007 board with SATA, SSE3, DDR2, quad pumped bus this is a bit of a joke really, no wonder I'm the only person who actually owns one!

as i said, its around 8600pts with 80/90 drivers. 30.82 is best for pre-geforce4 with slow cpus.

I'm working on a Dual Tualatin 1.4 and came across this thread.. A few people were curious if a dual would help 3Dmark2001se and it doesn't
look like it does, or if it does it's very little. My numbers are in line with Single 1.4's.. However it looks like 3dmark 03 is multi-threaded, since a search on google has my score up with a lot of 2+ghz CPU's..These are funny scores... I'm guessing the newer driver and card just aren't optimized for 99max.. Tried a couple different drivers
and the result was the same..No overclock...
Dual P III-S 1.4ghz
1.5gig PC133 Cas 3 - ECC off
Geforce 6800 Ultra OC (BFG factory overlock 425mhz core)
Supermicro P3TDDE with VIA Apollo Pro 266T chipset...
Forceware 81.85's
3DMark 2003 is not multi-threaded--it's just ridiculously GPU limited.
Your 3DMark01 score is awesome. That's easily the best stock-clocked 1400-S score I've ever seen. This just confirms that the Apollo Pro 266 is the fastest P3 chipset out there. I wish I still had mine.
Most Tualatin-1400s can handle 1575/150 at normal vcore, and FSB speed really boosts the performance of a P3 system. My 1400-S/Radeon 9800 Pro only scored 9942 at 1400/133. When overclocked to 1585/151, it really woke up and hit 11544 (posted on the first page under "9800 Pro CPU Scaling").
If you take yours up to 1.58GHz, you'd probably be able to break 13K, which is in Athlon XP/Northwood P4 territory.

P4 2.8 Northwood
1g DDR 400
X800 Pro AGP 8x
Catalyst 6.5
Tried drivers from Cat 5.7 to 9.2, most hit around 16,400 - 16,900..
The 6.5's seem to be the sweet spot:)

Latest item rescued from the alley. Also the first non-VIA chipsetted Athlon XP that's ever made it into the Cave. This thing might be a keeper.
Came with an Athlon XP 2800+ Barton, Asus nForce2 board, 2GB of memory, and a surprisingly nice case. Gonna have to see what this thing can do with a 7800GS or X1950 Pro in it.
Here it is running the integrated GF4 MX.

And here is the performance of a UL20A laptop with a Intel CULV Celeron CPU (dual-core) at 1.2Ghz with an intel GM45 GPU.
4381 3Dmarks:
The gpu can actually play youtube at 1080p quite well having more or less the raw power of a Gf2ti (with the support of DirectX10 😀 ), and the CPU evens out with a Athlon X2 4200+ according to PerformanceTest 8.0, so the 3dmark 2001 score seems to be ok.

made a couple of changes to the Win98/2k machine , I replaced the 2 GPUs I had in it (a Voodoo 3000 PCI and a GF2Ti) with a recently acquired Voodoo 5500 I found for a very reasonable price, while its obviously not as fast as the GF2 in later games like Max Payne or MOHAA , its no big deal since those games run fine on my modern machine, and I prefer the 5500 due to the better image quality, better glide performance and nifty AA in low res or FPS locked games. I also got an 800Mhz PIII Coppermine , which seems to be the fastest thing this motherboard will take (judging by the multiplier , and the fact that overclocking it even to 894Mhz causes it to crash)
Abit BX6 1.0
PIII 800 Coppermine @ 824Mhz
512Mb SDRAM
Voodoo 5500
ran this in Windows 2000 since for whatever reason 3DMark01 won't start on Win98
the results are tbh maybe 1/3 those of the GF2&700Mhz , but I suspect of the 5500 being a DX6 card essentially, in 3DMark 99 or 2000 I suspect the gap would be considerably closer.

Why not to run newer drivers on old hardware.. Tossed in GlQuake for fun since it's my first machine to break 1000fps:)

3Dmark = 17099
GlQuake = 934fps
197.45
3Dmark = 17354
Glquake = 1030fps

3Dmark = 18245

3Dmark = 18868

Runs fine on my 7 64bit machine.. Should run fine on Vista..
Does it give an error?
Maybe do the normal checks like redo the AGP driver, Display driver, reinstall DX... Maybe install or run it as administrator..
I've had some of the 3Dmarks be picky on 2000 and 2003 about installing without compatibility mode or being run as admin.
Maybe install with compat for XP or even 98..
