I bought the P4C800-E Deluxe in late 2003 and it became the basis of my main PC until 2007. This board was rock solid and I really enjoyed using it with XP over these years - I also started playing less games so I didn't feel the need to stay on the upgrade treadmill.
The specs I had at the time were:
2 Maxtor 160Mb HDDs in Raid
2Gb Ram
PIV 3.2Ghz
Geforce 6800 Ultra
Sound Blaster Audigy 2ZS Platinum Pro
It was originally housed in an Antec Sonata case, then when I eventually replaced the system in 2007 with a 775 Core2Q6600 system, I transplanted everything into an HTPC case to use it with the TV. However it stayed dormant for many years until I decided a few months ago to resurrect the system. I bought a new ANTEC VSK-4000E case... which feels a bit cheap but looks nice and is certainly good value for the price. Since I no longer had the Audigy 2ZS Platinum Pro because I had no need for the rack, I found a really cheap Audigy 1 on ebay because I didn't want to use the onboard sound.
The Raid array failed over the years, so I used a spare Western Digital Raptor 30GB that I had lying around. I haven't changed anything else apart from a fresh Windows XP install. There's not really any software on it as I have no real need for this system, I'm just keeping it for the nostalgic value.
