Which game was it you were running before, then, when you found speed differences between versions?

Why do you want them? If the moves from v1.24 to v1.27 have caused problems, I need to fix them, otherwise Glidos is going to degenerate. That would be particularly bad for you, when Glidos v1.28 has some magic feature you want, but still has the problems that make you want to use v1.24.

I want them because 1.25, 1.26 and 1.27 is way TOO slow on my machine (Win XP, GF4 Ti 2400, P4 - 2,4 GHz, 1024 Mb ram). But I never try Glidos 1.24...

No, its very important that problems like this are brought up. I very much appreciate your input. And there's no way that v1.28 will be any faster without your help. But I don't want to cure people's problems by handing out old versions. Its important that I find out what the cause is.

Caleb, try using different previous versions of OpenGlide before assuming it's a problem with the latest Glidos releases. The library that was distributed with Glidos 1.24 was OpenGlide 0.09rc6, you might want to give it a try with Glidos 1.27. Just another thought: try disabling mipmapping in your OpenGlide.ini configuration file.

Oh, and make sure you don't have any other Glide2x.dll / Glide2x.ovl in your game and system32 directories.

Thanks for advice, I'll try 0.09rc6 later.
BTW disabling mipmapping in OpenGlide.ini didn't change anything.

I think I may have found it. Teller, could you try swapping round the PollPipe.dll files between your versions 1.24 and 1.25? See what effect that has on speed.

Cheers,
Paul

swapped pollpipe.dll

Glidos 1.24 runs slow
Glidos 1.25 runs with a good speed

You found it

Glidos 1.27 also runs faster with same file swap

Great! Thanks for all the help. That versions of PollPipe.dll should work fine with v1.27 of Glidos too.

Mmm, I thought those pollpipe slowdowns were history since Glidos 1.23 (at least for TR)?

It was a different cause this time. In both cases I was trying to have Glidos make less intensive use of the computer. Obviously didn't do enough testing.

For those who don't have a copy of v1.24, here's PollPipe.dll

Thanks for the GREAT help! With v1.24 PollPipe.dll Blood works perfect! 😁
But I still can't figure out how to get the movies to play. Is it possible?
