I don't usually ask for help as i can normally sort out the problem- but i have spent several hours running through this forum and all the info on glidos. I am trying to get sound to work on TR1 with windows xp.
I have
P4 2.66
512 MB RAM
SOUNDBLASTER LIVE- latest drivers
Gforce 4 MMx 440 - latest drivers
VDMS installed and works well with other games for 3 months
Glidos 1.28c.
I have installed several times using either the traider xp insaller or the glidos installer or a manual install. I can get the game to run ok with or without glidos but only if i select no soundcard in setup.
The closest i have got to it working is by running setup with vdms and autoselecting soundcard- here i select
s/blaster 16/awe32
port 220
dma 1
irq 7
This is the only selection that produces sound when next selecting test.
If i then open glidos or run tomb.exe from a seperate install the game starts to load but freezes at the big blue E intro screen.
I guess there must be a solution as many people have got it working and my system is quite common.
Any help on getting this fixed would be appreciated.
