There's also Liero, released in 1998. It's freeware now but don't know if it was when it was first released. The latest version is from late 2013.

It was always freeware.
I haven't played the original Liero, but LieroLibre is a lot of fun if you can track down a second player.
So apparently the DOS machine has tons of trouble with Gunmetal; I can't get the game to play at anything over 10 or 15 FPS. Oh well.

I did a search for helicave, turns out it's a thing: https://www.google.com/search?q=HeliCave&sour … e=lnms&tbm=isch.
I was reading the November '98 issue of CGW, which includes a review of a game called Jetfighter: Full Burn. The review includes a section noting that it is a DOS game and what needs to be done to run multiplayer.
There is a similar post in WoS. The first question would be what is a DOS game release?
I posted Prince of Persia (was bundled with modern PoP games), but perhaps it may not count as a release (is a re-release). Also, there are some programmers/publishers that sells games by mail (physical releases with floppies, boxes and printed manuals).
Maybe the question was what was the last DOS game released for sale in stores?
I have traveled across the universe and through the years to find Her.
Sometimes going all the way is just a start...

That's pretty much the question I asked. IN OTHER NEWS, I've upgraded to a Diamond Stealth64 2001.
