Hi ddr!

Ad 1) I can not help you with this. I am not sure what your real problem is.

Ad 2) Use "MOUNT C C:\" from DOSBox. But I do not understand why you would want to do that. It is much better to create C:\DOSBox\Drive-C on your real harddisk, and then do a "MOUNT C C:\DOXBox\Drive-C" from inside DOSBox. That way all you old games will never be able to interfere with your real hard disk. This of course only works if you also install your games from inside DOSBox.

1. Edit dosbox.conf using a text editor. There are several sound options which you can enable and disable as you please. They will most likely not improve preformance, but if the sound annoys you... Also, you have the option to choose between CMS and FM synth, so you can play CMS-enabled games(very old, very rare).

@ddr/Guest - Perhaps it will be easier for you to experiment with DOSBox if you used one of user-friendly front-ends. Here are 2 you can try:

Boxer - http://www.pcgamester.co.uk/
D-Fend - http://members.home.nl/mabus/dfend.htm

They make it much easier to configure the many features in DOSBox.
