This is another one of those games I had a demo of when I was a kid.

It was a 2D side-scroller/adventure kind of deal. It had cartoony graphics (comic book-like). The main character was a skeleton or something like that. He wore clothes but his head was a skull.

I don't know much about what the game was about because the game was in English and at the time I couldn't understand a single word, so the only thing I know is that you walk around a city and, I think, you're supposed to get a hold of some weapons and wreak havoc.

From the more detailed things, I think there was a weird part in which you went into some dark alley and there was a face in the wall talking to you or something. Also, I remember that as you walk around the city, sometimes a dog comes by, pisses on you, and that somehow drains your health.

I don't know whether this is a DoS game or a strictly Windows game. Anybody got any idea what this might be? (I'm almost done reconstructing game memories from my childhood, so hopefully this is one of the last ones.)

Not it.

My game was somewhat more kiddy, less serious.

Remember, the obscure ones are the tricky freeware/shareware and they do exist, there's more to DOS games than just the laundry list of 'popular' games on 'abandonware' sites. There is a lot out there, some I know that exist that I can't even find for decades!

Now I'm scared. An underground world of ms-dos software that will never let me have a complete list of ALL ms-dos games ever made...

That is so true.
Everytime I find another shareware CD compilation from some company I never heard of, at a thrift store I often Find a DOS game or windows 3.1 game I never heard of on it, and doesn't exist when you google for it.

That's part of the fun of buying shareware compilations, unearthing some ancient game that hasn't seen the light of day in decades that everyone has long since forgotten about.

Hmm... I'm not sure but I think this one isn't just an obscure shareware. I remember that the graphics, though 2D, were pretty good for those days and the screens advertising the full version made it look like a really cool game. It didn't feel like something made by a college student in his basement. It felt like a proper, full-feature game.

I'm willing to bet that it might not be as obscure as we think.

Also, it just now came to me that the game might have had the word "cheerful" in the title. Or a word similar to that one. Then again, my mind might be playing tricks on me again.

(btw. I know you're tired of my obscure game finding threads. Just humor me one more time, pretty please)

Also, if this is the correct one, here is the link to the download, where they even recommend DOSBox 😀

And a bunch of other games from the same author:

Nope. My game definitely had better colors than that. Think Simon the Sorcerer II levels. I'm not even sure if it was a DoS game. I'm more inclined towards it being a Windows game. If it was for DoS, it must have been one of the late ones.

I am. Again, kiddy comic book style. Not your typical horror stuff.

You remembered this somehow from all those years ago or you stumbled upon this thread another way? intrigued as to how you linked your recent discovery to this thread!

anyway, that game looks like a web game or an earlier smartphone game before everything went hd and 3d
