Neverhood is supported by the latest version of ScummVM, so you should probably just stick with that. Alternatively, there appears to be a replacement installer at http://theneverhood.sourceforge.net/ .
If Bad Mojo insists on installing an older version of Quicktime, well, why not let it install an older version of Quicktime? The game is still sold on GOG and Steam and there's probably some way of getting it to run; you might want to check the support forums there.
Have tested Bad Mojo Redux with Vista HP 64-bit + Quicktime 7.7.5.
The game installer starts QT6 installation, detects QT7 and continues w/o any problem.
Unfortunately all in-game movies have 2-3 FPS in Vista... The game is unplayable.
The Neverhood is pretty easy to run on Win7. What issues have you had? What have you tried?
I have Bad Mojo Redux, but I have not tried it on Win7. I could take a look if I get time.
No one is going to accuse you of pirating if there is nothing suspicious about your post that suggests you might have.
After I put the Neverhood disc in, and try to run install, I get a dialog box saying that "The version is this file is incompatible with the version of Windows you are using. Contact the System admin to see if you need X86 (32 bit) or x64 (64 bit) version, then contact the game manufacturer"
I didn't know that ScummVM supported it yet. Is that the stable release, or an SVN? I'll also check out the replacement installer.
As for why I didn't let Bad Mojo install older Quicktime, I've got the latest, but I use VLC to play those files. Besides, I expect the Apple updater will try to force down the newest QT, so I've avoided it.

That is just the installer. The game is 32-bit. To manually install it, just copy "NHC.EXE" and "SMACKW32.DLL" from the "SETUP" directory and the "DATA" folder on the CD to a folder on your hard drive. Merge the following with your registry after editing the <path to game folder> with your real path.
1Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 2 3[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DreamWorks Interactive] 4 5[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DreamWorks Interactive\Neverhood] 6"Data Drive"="<path to game folder>\\" 7"PID"="54767-442-8148572-87248" 8"Installed Directory"="<path to game folder>" 9"Run File"="<path to game folder>\\NHC" 10"KBPS_OTHER"=dword:ffffffff 11"KBPS"=dword:ffffffff 12"Installed"=dword:00000001 13"KBPS_CD"=dword:00002800
Start with NHC.EXE. If you get color corruption, kill explorer before starting the game.
As to Bad Mojo and Quicktime, it should work to just place the quicktime files in the installed game's folder. That way it will use the quicktime it was designed for without overwriting the modern one installed on your system and opening it up to security holes. This is how I fixed the quicktime issues with QfG5.
Well, the win7 installer from sourceforge got the game installed. I had to manually copy smakw32.dll from the disc. I set wa.exe to win95 compat and 256 color, but when the game runs, the colors are all FUBAR. Any idea what I did wrong?
EDIT
Whoops! Didn't see your post before I added mine. I'll try the steps you listed in a little bit. Trying to help someone with OSPF redistribution, and explaining the different OSPF area (stub, Totally stub, NSSA, totally NSAA). I'll get to in in about an hour, and report back how it works.
Thanks for heads up! I haven't played these in forever, and was getting nostalgic. 😁

[...SNIP...This is how I fixed the quicktime issues with QfG5.
Is that an issue with the GOG version of QFG5, too, or just the originials? I've got the GOG version installed, but haven't tested it yet. I lost my QFG5 disks during a move, and went ahead and re-purchased them during a GOG sale.

They should make a sticky here for this problem, easily remedied with the alternative installers from reactos for 99% of old installers.
"but when the game runs, the colors are all FUBAR. Any idea what I did wrong?"
Also the explorer kill batch file too for the colors problem in some games
OK, I'm confued about "kill explorer". To me, that means killing windows explorer, and that causes the Win7 machine to literally shit the bed. Is there a different explorer y'all are talking about?
Becaus otherwise, I'm just going to see if I can get win 95/98SE running in Virtualbox and run it in that. At least then, I can just kill that process without bringing down the whole damned machine.

In Windows 2000/XP and above you can usually kill the "explorer" task using Task Manager with seemingly no ill effect. For example, I just now killed explorer in Task Manager in Windows 8.1 and Firefox continued running fine.
It will close _some_ apps (frequently notepad, for me, as well as any open Windows Explorer windows as well as remove your desktop icons and Taskbar) while many others will continue to hum along. With Task Manager remaining open, you can select File -> Run and launch new tasks, etc. By pressing the Windows key, or running "explorer" from Task Manager, you can easily get Explorer running again, get your desktop back, start menu, etc.
However, this problem with graphical corruption being solved by killing Explorer has had more user-friendly workarounds for quite a while now, and they're scattered throughout VOGONS.

Make a batch file with:
1@ECHO OFF 2TASKKILL /F /IM explorer.exe 3nhc.exe 4start explorer.exe
and save it in the game's folder. Start the game with the bat.
Personally, I feel this sort of fix is deprecated. There are generally better fixes for the graphics-corruption-solved-by-killing-explorer.exe problem these days.

Yes, it is in the stable release. If prior experience with ScummVM is any indication, it is probably by far the most straightforward way to enjoy the game and it is not even worth considering alternatives.

Killing Explorer is generally only of particular use in Vista and 7. (The color problem was apparently fixed in Windows 8.)

I tried using Regedit (I even searched all hives)m and the only two entries were for Dreamworks\Neverhood.link, which only gave me a prompt to alter the binary values. Am I doing it wrong? I tried regedit32, but Win7 claims that it doesn;t exist.
Also tried kill explorer, but the color schemes were still fubar. Could you help me point out how I'm goofing it up, please?
And BAd Mojo REdux also refuses to run, unless I completely uninstall QT7, and install QT6 instead.
I tried running Win98SE in Virtualbox, but that was a no go.
*UDPATE*
I got it working in ScummVM, and it works great. No wonky Colors or anything. If only could get Bad Mojo Redux working, I'd be a happy camper. 😁

Why doesn't anybody see my post above? I'll ease it up and attach the file right here...
I used the DD Compat tool, too. It didn;t help. ScummVM was the only thing that allowed Neverhood to work properly
Will the DirectDraw Compat tool help with Bad Mojo Redux? Because so far, the install bombs, and demands I remove QT7 and install QT6.
And don't worry, I read and followed every instruction you posted further up in the thread. They just didn;t work for me in Win7 64bit, for some reason.
