Holy mother of cables! 😳
Acer Helios Neo 16 | i7-13700HX | 64G DDR5 | RTX 4070M | 32" AOC 75Hz 2K IPS + 17" DEC CRT 1024x768 @ 85Hz
Win11 + Virtualization => Emudeck @consoles | pcem @DOS~Win95 | Virtualbox @Win98SE & softGPU | VMware @2K&XP | ΕΧΟDΟS
I know, I know! Cable management is not my strong suit.
Picture contains four PCs, router, three NASes, amp and speakers for all PCs, and LAN and phone cables for the whole house. Considering that, I think it's not so bad. And considering how often I change things up, managing the cables is a waste of time.
How do you control all those computers? KVM switch?
Yep, there's a KVM to the left of the keyboard. It switches mouse/keyboard and the 15" monitor. The 27" and 23" get switched using the different inputs on the monitors. A bit cumbersome, but it works.

Heu... No ^^ But i have no problem for the moment with these JVC speakers.
heh...just seemed a bit precarious having some of that cool software right next to a non magnetically shielded speaker 🤣, but I guess some of that software is CD based anyways so it shouldn't matter all that much.....
....but at least please save those Might and Magic Darkside and Clouds Xeen game floppies from damage! 🤣
Done! 😊
Vous devriez voir ce que je vois.

very nicely done. but doesn't make you any less of a hoarder 😀
@trunk70. .. 😀 ..awesome! Looks great...good work. Your setup looked really good before but now it's that much better with that game shelf.

Now I have 2X Roland MA-8. 😀 And a 325T, PS/1, 433DX/S, 286 and P233MMX. Should get an IBM 350 later this week. 🤣
Your stack needs to be taller. 😀

Here's mine.

Apparently 32-bit is dead and nobody likes P4s.
Of course, as always, I'm open to correction...😉
Stuff I have but not showing very well or hidden in drawers or the closet.

Right off the bat, I have to say, sorry for the terrible photos (I left my nice digital SLR at work).
I have been working on my new setup. Even though I recently moved into a little bit larger space, I still don't have enough room to fit all my retro stuff to make my ultimate setup, but this will have to do for now. It is still a work in progress. For now, I am just arranging everything and will wire it up one weekend when I have the time.
Just to the right of the photo, off-frame, I have a filing cabinet that is the exact width of my Emerson 286 computer which I may add to my setup.
To switch between all the computers I am planning to use here, I will be using a Belkin 8 port PRO KVM that actually has a serial to PS/2 mouse converter built in for each channel in addition to the option of just using standard PS/2 ports. This will allow me to add new and old systems to the mix.
I wish I had room for a CRT. I may opt to use one of my CRT's instead of my current LCD pictured. I have a 21" Black IBM CRT that has dual inputs (VGA and DVI), that may look pretty good in this setup.
I am planning to have 2 more modern computers in an ANTEC 900 case (as you can barely make out in the photo) and 1 Commodore AMIGA 2000HD and 3 older systems (386, 486 and pentium I or II systems) stacked on top of that (I photoshopped 3 photos of my desktops on top of the AMIGA in one of the attached photos). This may change by the time I wire everything up.
I will probably swap out the EMERSON SVGA monitor in the photo for a commodore 1084-S to handle 9 pin RGB and the AMIGA.
I will have another room dedicated to older Tandy, C64 and some console stuff, but space is limited in that room as well, as a result, I guess I will have to make compromises again 😢
One day, I hope to have a huge basement or games room where I can have CRT's upon CRT's without upsetting the gf 🤣
I am not super happy with this setup yet, so I'm sure I will make some changes in the weeks to come.
Looks good! 😀
My little mancave when she lets me go in.
Yes its has been cleaned up, tornado of parts and paperwork all over it now.
Game rig on left, left corner is office laptop area, top right is tinkering table, right side is the play with the old hardware desk. Think its the old Athlon XP setup there in pic.
Just a guy with a bad tinkering habit.
