Hello,

I have issues with some games about MIDI Music.

In Abuse (Apogee) the setup offers only to set digital Sound... and I have no music in game...
In Dungeon Master II (Interplay/FTL), the music is MIDI but it can be played only by sound card. No option for external MIDI. Is there a patch ?
In Power Dolls, the music is MIDI too but soundblaster only again 😠

If i remember correctly about Dungeon Master 2 so do you have to select the Ensoniq soundcard for General MIDI music 😀

I also tried to add a roland MT-32 device line (taken from Abuse Setup.ini files) and it didn't work either.
Only MIDI from creative synth not AWE wavetable nor MIDI out... 😢

I solved the issue with Abuse.
It seems that my game was wrong. I used another and the setup now offers MIDI options.

Yesterday, I launched Dungeon Master II and surprisingly I got GM Music on my Roland SC-88 !!

SKULL.CFG

[DIGITAL]
DeviceName = Sound Blaster 16
DeviceIRQ = 5
DeviceDMA = 1
DevicePort = 0x220
DeviceID = 0xe015

[MIDI]
DeviceName = Sound Blaster 16
DevicePort = 0x330
DeviceID = 0xa001

I simply cheat with DevicePort

Hello,

i'm trying to use my MT-32 with Dungeon Master 2 under Dosbox (Windows 10), but it does not work. Anyone could explain me how to do please ?

(sorry, seems I asked in the wrong discussion, but I just followed a google link).

This is the one and only right setting to get MIDI output (to Roland MT32 for example) in DM II, but working (for me) only on ESS sound card.

[DIGITAL]
DeviceName = ESS AudioDrive
DeviceIRQ = -1
DeviceDMA = 1
DevicePort = 0x220
DeviceID = 0xe019

[MIDI]
DeviceName = Sound Blaster 16
DevicePort = 0x330
DeviceID = 0xa001

BUT, Before starting the game itself, it is necessary to start another game with midi music first. The game that worked as a "starter" for me is Al Quadim. Just start the main menu and immediately exit back to DOS. Otherwise, the music in DM2 will not start. Strange, but it works. Now i have MIDI music in DM2 played by MT-32 through Gameport
