Got started on getting this old gal back in action. So far I have got the hard drive tested and so far no problems. System boots up and now needs a good cleaning.

Few repairs are needed, but simple by the standards of those here, but for me not so much. The monitor smoked up my office the other night and i need to replace the barrel CMOS Battery, luckily the board has an external hookup.

Parts in system include:

The attachment PBVGA Vid card.JPG is no longer available
The attachment MegaBit-B 2MB.JPG is no longer available
The attachment WD 40MB HDD.JPG is no longer available
The attachment Flash 2000.JPG is no longer available

Also in the system is a 2400 Modem. Closest I can find to match is an IBM SM24hn/1.

Sry for the pics if they come out wrong 🤣

What case does this have? The standard tower or the Designer tower?

Here's what my old Packard Bell P-150 looked like.

I actually miss that computer now. It was my first store bought IBM compatible PC. It replaced my home made AMD 486 DX2-80.

Loaded the cards and the hard drive back into the case. Will try to fire it up tomorrow and hope the monitor still lives.

Just a quick peek

Man, that is cool. Glad to see that it's working. 😀 What's the specs? I'm guessing 286 or maybe 386?

UGH...

Having issues getting the 3.5 and the 5.25 to work. The 3.5 will work alone but add in the other and they both seem to stop. Swapped out cables and jumper settings on the 5.25 and still nothing. Other than that is a running little monster off that awesome WD 40MB hard drive 😀

As far as specs go @Sutekh94, the pics I posted at the beginning are all the parts in the machine. Yes it is a 286 with no coprocessor installed, according to BIOS.

Moarrrr pics :::

The attachment Boot Menu.JPG is no longer available

This is the software already installed on it from teh previous owner. Backed it all up onto a CD, so I can tinker with the Menu program it uses.

The attachment Vid Card ports.JPG is no longer available

Ports on the video card it uses. BIOS registers it as CGA40 display, guess that's why the monitor works with just that card.

Update:
Removed the 40MB WD drive and added in a Quantum Fireball 540MB, BIOS won't register the drive
Removed the multi port video and added in a CHIPS F82C451 ISA video card, switched to a Trident 8900

System boots and hangs at DOS 6.22 setup, due to not seeing hard drive i am assuming.
Will a CF work if I make it a 4oMB partition, or the Fireball, like the original drive or am I going to have to work with the drive alone since I can't manually input the hard drive settings into the BIOS?

Memory question:
Board will post with 4mb on the motherboard OR use the ISA card if I install it. Any knowledge if the MegaBit Card I have posted will work in tandem with another ISA Memory Card? Or if I can somehow use the onboard AND the ISA card together? Just looking for a head's up about any possible solutions.

Thanks in advance.
