I got this VGA splitter a while ago, but only today took some screenshots with my AVerMedia Game Broadcaster HD.
I have two other splitters, one cheap, new one, from eBay with 130 MHz and another second hand one with, 350 MHz. The StarTech Splitter also has 350 MHz: http://www.startech.com/AV/Splitters/VGA-Spli … lifier~ST122PRO
Using a Matrox G400, I tested out various VGA cables into the AVerMedia. The oldest VGA cable I have, 3m long with PS/2 plugs on both ends, gives me the best image quality. Doesn't have ferrites. So that one stays with the AVerMedia.
Then I tried out two VGA extension cables (The StarTech splitter has a male plug for VGA input). Got a 3m one from eBay, quite thick, with ferrites on both ends, which gave the best results.
Took screenshots of everything and was amazed when I looked at the output from the StarTech splitter. The image is clearer and sharper than going directly into the AVerMedia.
Screenshots attached. Resolution set to 1920 x 1080@60 Hz. Also attached a 1920 x 1080 VGA screenshot of the desktop. Might have to zoom in and out to see the small images.

3m VGA extension into StarTech VGA splitter. Then 3m VGA from StarTech into AVerMedia:

Couldn't take a capture, but on my 24" screen at 1920 x 1200 resolution the VGA image is as clear and as sharp as DVI. I was really surprised and not quite sure why and how, but that doesn't really matter. Bottom line: This splitter is really good!
