Look at the picture. The chip at the bottom is standard PC cache chip, but what is the one on the top? It has the same leg number but it's larger - wider.

It's a 128kx8 cache chip. They were available in 300mil and 400mil width. Many of the earlier motherboards that supported 1MB cache used those.

It is wider then sockets on any of my 486 boards that support 1Mb chips.
Both of these are 4cm in length but upper one is 10mm wide, while the bottom one is 7mm wide.
Maybe the upper (wider) one isn't a cache chip to be used on PC motherboards?

I have seen these in some Dell stuff if I remember correctly...
Pretty sure I have three motherboards that will take that width. They were more common on high end motherboards from the early 90s.
