I browsed the forum a little bit and found this:
X-COM: Apocalypse almost works in latest CVS (2003-10-03)

I got the very same problem, anyone know how to fix this? Sound, music, video and mouse works perfectly, the in-game graphics however is really screwed up just like it is on the screenshot you'll find inside the link above. I appreciate all help I can get.
