Hi,

I just got a new computer and I tried to install TR from the disk. But, I couldnt see what I was doing, all I saw were lines. I eventually got into the game but had to play it on the lowest graphics setting, or else the screen became lines. So I deleted the Tombraid folder and used the wizard Glide to install the necessary files. Now I cant even get into the game at all (through glidos) If I try to run Glidos, the screen goes black, the computer beeps, and then it powers off and reboots.

I have never had this sort of trouble. I have never seen Glidos reboot a computer.

I am running a Pentium II, Win98 second ed, sound blaster pcl128 under display adapter its says radeon 7000 series. I am not sure if this is the video card but it is a good vidio card, It plays TR Chronicles seamlessly and other more recent games. I am surprised I am having trouble with an old game like TR since this is Win 98

Radeon 7000. That's an ATI card. There was a period when ATI's graphics drivers would crash a computer of it ran a DOS program. You probably have old drivers on this computer. Go to ATI's site and download the latest drivers.

I tried installing the newest drivers from ATI but it didnt help. I still saw the lines/distortion and the computer rebooted from glidos.

That's bad if it does it with the latest drivers.

The thing that's messed up is the VESA support. I was wondering
why that would matter, since Glidos provides its own VESA support.
But I've just noticed you said Windows 98, and Glidos's VESA support
works only under XP, so you are getting VESA via your card's drivers.

Must say the DOS games supported by Glidos generally run better under
XP than 98.
