I have a nice IBM PS/1 286, the earliest 2011 model.

The MFM hard drive works fine, but it is pretty noisy. Are there any viable options for a modern IDE or Compact Flash adapter for these proprietary mofos?

If it has an expansion slot (ISA) you can use an IDE interface card, or SCSI.

No ISA on this first model unfortunately, just some weirdo expansions port that is not even MCA I believe.

Well, fast forward to 2025 and voila , we now have a riser for 2 isas.I just got one and will install a scsi bootable controller and a vga card. I now need to mod a soundcard or try to find a paralel sound card.
