I tried running Glidos, for TR1, but it says, "Wrong version of Tomb.exe." I also tried VDMSound. Are you supposed to keep VDMSound running, or just double click DOSDRV, and let it auto close? I tried selecting "Auto Detect" from the main install menu, but the game crashes, and when I try to select "test" after choosing a suggested sound card in another post (Soundblaster, 220, 1, 7) I hear her say "Right" but then the game hangs until I have to manually terminate it.
I've tried both Glidos 1.28, and 1.29, and they both give me the same error message.

I have a P4 1.4Ghz Processor
384MB Rambus RAM
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro (128MB)
Realtek AC97 Audio, with the name: ALCXWDM.SYS. (As seen in dxdiag)

I also can't hear Lara, or any cutscenes as well, for anyone who knows anything about that.

I suggest you delete c:\Tombraid and start again using my installer (from the install page of the web site). That will download the right version of tomb.exe for you and set up the audio.

You just need to install VDMSound, and Glidos will ensure that TR1 uses it.
