I just upgraded my PC from:

Pentium 4 2.8b
512MB DDR266
GeForce4 Ti4400 128MB
SB Live Value
Triple Boot W98SE, W2K SP4, XP SP1
Direct X 9.0c
Detonators 56.72 WHQL

To:

Pentium 4E 3.2 Prescott (1MB on chip Cache)
1GB DDR400
Geforce 6800 256MB GT
SB Audigy
Triple Boot W98SE, W2K SP4, XP SP1
Direct X 9.0c
Detonators 61.77
Glidos 1.29
VDMSound 2.1.0

Tomb Raider1 worked before on my old system under W98SE except that sometimes the CD music would stop and cut out.

Now under XP I have just managed to configure it so that it works perfectly so far @ 1280x1024x32 . This is with my original (1996 retail CD) on drive letter G. All sounds are present and correct. The GFX look very smooth as I also have max settings in my detonators. Unsure whether these apply to Glidos though. Strangely enough I am having trouble getting it to run under W98SE now so will stick with XP as it looks very good indeed 😎

Looking forward to replaying it from scratch again 🤣

Though I'd share this to let everyone know that it is quite possible to have it running on a faster PC if you persevere a little with the settings/config.

Well done Paul.

Also works pretty well on my

AMD Athlon 64 3500+ (socket 949)
1GB DDR400
ATI X800 XT Iceq

Although XP-only at the moment because ATI don't
yet have their W98 X800 drivers working
