Hi
Today i hauled up from my basement two old heavy servercases i take for recycling. First one was a Compaq Proliant 2000 rackshassis and the last one was a Nokia Data / Alfaskop tower. I bought this server used almost twenty years ago and it had then a properitary big 486 EISA board inside that i never figured out. Modified it some and put in a ordinary Pentium AT Board instead. I have now kept frontpanels, psu, switches, floppy and a fan from this case and scrap the rest. I suppose this is a rebranded oem tower, but maybe not. Do anyone have some info on this rare Nokia server?

Never knew Nokia did server stuff. I think it was probably meant to to be used internally only, not sold.

Alfaskop was on a label on top front thats long gone. Alfaskop was originally a Swedish company that looks like Nokia took over.

In the Wikipedia article 386 servers are mentioned among desktops. Here is a Nokia Alfaskop desktop.

I bought this server in Oslo at an auction and it was a total of 4 that went on sale for cheap. Mine had 2 big full height scsi drives and had been a mailserver before. All Alfaskop servers that went on sale came from a Norwegian ISP. It had originally a diagnostics board connected to the front lcd panel that showed post boot messages.

I dont think a Scandinavian producer made their own cases, but who knows? Feeling a bit guilty of thrashing it if its Nokia designed thing, but with motherboard and cards gone many years ago its not complete anyway. Have too much stuff and something has to go 😒 .

Man that case would suit my Duel Slot 1 M/B so well! I wouldn't recycle it. Put it on ebay or a more local version.
The shipping will mean it will only sell locally but wouldn't be surprised if 1 or 2 people are interested

Sadly shipping rates in Norway is crazy even domestic. Have so many things i newer will use, but rather see them in good hands. Just tested a Tyan Tomcat 1562D socket 7 with dual P166 and 256mb ram, but what practical use has it? Windows NT4 is not usefull for anything i want to do and W2K will probably be slow. Tried single and dual Kingston Turbochip 366 in it without success. Know dual K6-2 is impossible, but hoped for a miracle 😎
I live in a small place with rather limited options for sale or for donation 😒
